I wanted to get these photos posted much sooner, but Brian and I left for a vacation two days after Zachary's birthday party, and I'm just now getting around to it! So with out further ado...here are some photos from Zachary's birthday party, which was a small gathering of family and neighbors.
I tried to recreate my own first birthday cake that my mom made for me. It's supposed to look like "ABC" blocks with his initials!

We gave Zachary his own piece of cake, but he just wanted to take a nap!
After his nap, we opened presents, and he was in a much better mood! Boxes are fun!

Looks like the party was a great success! I got teary eyed singing happy birthday to Ezra too. They are officially toddlers. :( Eager to hear more about your vacay!
Little ones always looked so surprised and confused by all the hubbub surrounding their own birthdays, but the pictures will always be a treasure (even the ones where they are crying -- sometimes those are my favorites). And boxes! Oh my goodness, boxes and boys. :)
Good thinking making the pinata a non-animal. We went to a party once where the pinata was an animal, and she felt so bad for it, she cried.
Poor Zach, tired out and overwhelmed at cake time. Glad he felt better after his nap and rallied to play with boxes! Happy Birthday, sweet Zach!
